NXT 436 on the WWE Network:

Verdict: You had 3 matches with 1 match being a potential career-ender for a beloved superstar.  You had to watch this episode to see what unfolded.

Episode tidbits

→Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic starts in 2 weeks.  The winner of the tournament gets a title shot at Takeover New Orleans.

→Kairi Sane versus Shayna Baszler next week.

Match 1: Velveteen Dream stopped the party of No Way Jose (Match Grade: C+)

The crowd is pro-Dream all the way.  This match should have been longer.  I need a longer rematch between these two.

Match 2: Nikki Cross gets an energetic win over Vanessa Borne (Match Grade: C+)

Borne has improved greatly in the ring.  Unfortunately for Borne, all the offense from her just seemed to irritate and fuel Cross to beat her.

Match 3: Johnny Gargano put up his career against Andrade "Cien" Almas NXT Championship title and lost his career due to outside interference. (Match Grade: B-)

These guys threw their bodies at each other!  They truly made you believe that they dislike each other. Ciampa screwed up a good match!  William Regal can't let this stand!

→The Velveteen Dream versus No Way Jose next week.

→The Velveteen Dream versus Tyler Bate may happen in the near future.

Match 1: United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne retains his title in a brutal match against Roderic Strong (Match Grade: C++)

The crowd was split down the middle for their favorite of the two competitors.  These were two aggressively mean people hurting each other.  Pete showed why he earned the nickname "Bruiserweight."

Match 2: TM61 dominates Jon Skyler & Andrew Duckworth (Match Grade: C)

Dominate win for TM61 in a short match.

Match 3: Shayna Baszler gets a disqualification win over Women's champion Ember Moon due to outside interference. (Match Grade: C++)

Ember Moon started off the match possessed!  Baszler started to do the ethically questionable tactics, which caused Kairi Sane to come out and attack Shyna.  Shayna picks up the victory.

NXT 434 on the WWE Network:

Verdict: You had 4 matches, sort of, that were well worth your time.  The episode has you wondering what directions NXT will be taking in the future.

Episode tidbits

→Riddick Moss may not wish to tag with Tito Sabbatelli anymore.

→Shayna Baszler said a rematch with Ember Moon will not happen because Moon is scared of her.

→UK Championship match between Pete Dunne and Roderic Strong next week.

→Aleister Black is back next week.

→Ember Moon wants Shayna Baszler next week and the title can be on the line.

Match 1: Tag Champions Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish never got to put their titles up against SAnitY because SAnitY attacked them before the match (Match Grade: B)

General Manager William Regal said that there would be a Six-Man Tornado Tag Team match between all fo SAnitY and the Undisputed ERA.

Match 2: Heavy Machinery got payback on Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss (Match Grade: C+)

The heavy boys entertained and got revenge for the cheat lost to Tino and Moss last month.  Tino and Moss may be breaking up based on the body language after the match.

Match 3: Bianca Belair made quick work of Jessix Hill (Match Grade: C)

The EST of NXT proved to be too big and too strong for her opponent.  This match lasted less than a minute!

Match 4: SAnitY gets a measure of revenge against Undisputed ERA is a Six-Man Tornado Tag Team Match (Match Grade: B)

No disqualifications or count outs means people will get hit with everything including the kitchen sink.  These two team fought all over the arena.  Kilian Dane is always worth watching and stole the show...once again.

NXT 433 on the WWE Network:

Verdict: You had 3 matches that were attention grabbers.  You also had a recap of  NXT Takeover Philadelphia and the fallout from the event.

Episode tidbits

→NXT 432 is considered NXT Takeover Philadelphia.  A recap of all action from Takeover was shown, including exclusive footage of all of the aftermath of all matches.

→SAnitY versus Undisputed Era next week for the tag team titles.

→Adam Cole vs Kilian Dane next week.

Match 1: Nikki Cross goes ham on Lacey Evans (Match Grade: C+)

This match was short but was full of action.

Match 2: The Ealy Brothers were game, but could not spoil the return of TM61 (Match Grade: B-)

TM61 made sure to make a memorable return match.

Match 3: Roderick Strong crunched his way to becoming the #1 Contender for the WWE United Kingdom Championship over Tyler Bate (Match Grade: B)

This match went from technical wrestling and transformed to hard knocks really quickly.  Strong dished out so many back breakers to whereas I am not truly certain that Tyler is not injured!

NXT 431 on the WWE Network:

Verdict: You had 4 matches that prove NXT has a bright future for 2018.  This was a buildup episode to the upcoming NXT Takeover Philadelphia.

Episode tidbits

→Part 2 of a special look into TM61 was shown. TM 61 will make an in-ring return next week.

→Lacey Evans vs Nikki Cross next week.

Match 1: No Way Jose partied his way to a win over Cezar Bononi (Match Grade: C)

This match was a lot slower paced than I expected.  Cezar put a heavy grind on Jose but Cezar still lost.

Match 2: Latoya Allsopp did not stand a chance against Bianca Belair (Match Grade: C)

Bianca simply overpowered her smaller opponent.

Match 3: Authors of Pains beat up some schmucks (Match Grade: C+)

AOP beat up their opponents before the match started.  They then let the Tag Team Champions Fish & O'Reilly know that those beat up guys will be them at Takeover Philadelphia.

Match 4: The Velveteen Dream loses to Johnny Gargano in a great match (Match Grade: B)

The crowd was split right down the middle for both competitors.  There was plenty of back and forth in the match.  This match was too close to call a winner because momentum changed in a heartbeat several times during the match.  Johnny won and his victory brought out Cien.  They tussled with Gargano getting the best of their exchange.

NXT 430 on the WWE Network:

Verdict: Once again, this episode of NXT showcased 4 matches that prove NXT has a bright future for 2018.  These diverse matches are a good mixture of old and new talent, and also is a great buildup episode to the upcoming NXT Takeover Philadelphia.

Episode tidbits

→Roderick Strong called out Lars Sullivan for a future match.

→Part 1 of a special look into TM61 was shown.

→Lacey Evans says that she is going to clean house in NXT.  She calls out many ladies until Shayna Baszler came out.  Baszler went to the ring and choked out Aliyah.  Ember Moon, once again, came out to save a Baszler victim.  Ember Moon calls out Baszler for a match, even if it means putting up the title to get her in the ring.

→General Manager William Regal agrees to let Ember Moon and Shayna Baszler fight for the title at NXT Takeover Philadelphia.

→Zelena Vega told General Manager William Regal that The Velveteen Dream deserves the title shot over Johnny Gargano.  Gargano should put his #1 contender spot up against Dream.  Johnny Gargano heard this and decides to go to the ring and declare that this is his time, and he is deserving of the title shot.  To prove he is title worthy, Gargano will put up his #1 Contender spot against Dream next week.

→NXT Year End Awards 2017 categories are still open.  Go to Twitter to vote for your favorites of 2017.

Match 1: Tito Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss steals a victory over Heave Machinery (Match Grade: B)

This match had everything you would want in a match.  Tito and Moss proved that if you aren't cheating, you aren't trying!

Match 2: Roderick Strong gets a submission win over Fabian Aichner (Match Grade: C+)

There were plenty of big moves in this match.  A bit of a surprise ending watching Strong get the win via submission.

Match 3: Lacey Evans beats Aliyah (Match Grade: C+)

Aliyah came back with a new look and a more polished in-ring game.  Lacey came aggressive and impressive.  Plenty of technical wrestling to go with gritty moves.

Match 4: Authors of Pain showed they are still the team to beat against Street Profits (Match Grade: C+)

AOP showed they are still powerhouses.  Street Profits are undefeated no more.

NXT 429 on the WWE Network:

Verdict: This episode of NXT showcased 4 matches that proves NXT has a bright future for 2018.  These diverse matches are a good mixture of old and new talent, and also is a great buildup episode to the upcoming NXT Takeover Philadelphia.

Episode tidbits

→General Manager of NXT told Shayna Baszler that she would not be getting a championship match by attacking people from behind.

→The Velveteen Dream let Johnny Gargano know that he did not earn the spot he took from him to qualify for the championship tournament.  He also let Johnny know that The Dream does not think he will be able to beat Andrade "Cien" Almas at NXT Takeover Philadelphia.

→Street Profits asked William Regal to consider them for a title opportunity due to them being undefeated.  Regal agreed to a #1 contenders match against the Authors of Pain set for next week.

→Lars Sullivan stated that he wants to face Killian Dain.

→Undisputed Era jumped SAnitY before their scheduled title rematch which caused William Regal to announce they will defend their tag titles regardless.  Roderick Strong asked to fight them, then Aleister Black came out and said he will tag team with Strong.

→William Regal made the NXT Takeover Philadelphia match between Adam Cole and Aleister Black an extreme rules match.

→NXT Year End Awards 2017 categories are still open.  Go to Twitter to vote for your favorites of 2017.

Match 1: Shayna Baszler defeats Dakota Kai in brutal fashion! (Match Grade: C)

Shayna abused Kai in a quick match.  She stomped the left arm of Kai & caused the match to be stopped.  She choked Kai after winning the match and refused to release the choke until Ember Moon came out to confront Baszler.

Match 2: Kassisus Ohno beats Raul Mendoza in a spirited affair. (Match Grade: B-)

Styles makes for a good match and this David VS Goliath match was fun to watch.  No Cinderella ending this week!

Match 3: Lars Sullivan dominates Lio Rush (Match Grade: C+)

The crowd was pro-Rush, but that did not matter one bit!  Rush tried to use his speed to make up for lack of size, but Lars made quick work of him nonetheless.

Match 4: Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish survived their tag title bout against Roderick Strong and Aleister Black. (Match Grade: B-)

The tag champs quickly saw a fair match would cause them to lose their titles quickly...so just like any champion would do, they adjusted accordingly!  The numbers game caused Black to become unfocused and that caused his team to lose the match.  After the match, the Undisputed Era gave Black a thorough beatdown!
