WRESTLING RECAP: Breaking down WWE SmackDown from 08/06/15

(www.PlaytimeCares.com) - Much anticipation is leading up to Summer Slam (SS) PPV. The WWE need to maintain excitement levels for this big PPV that is a little over a month away.  This particular SmackDown episode did bring a new match in the mix, and was a decent show.

Some things I still need to happen in the WWE Universe:

1. Bring back the Cruiser Weight Division
2. Make all the matches mean something to some sort of belt or rivalry.  
3. Show more of the roster.  You guys recycle the same talent too much.
4. You may wish to consider bringing the Diva's division full circle and have them with Tag Title belts, lightweight belts, etc.
5. The Tag Team Division is starting to look better than the singles division.  Get more people graduated from NXT and get that division showcased more.

• The New Day VS Tag Team Champions Prime Time Players (PTP) and Mark Henry

1. "New Day sucks" chants often during the match
2. Darren Young was impressive with his aggression early in the match
3. Great back and forth action from both teams
4. Kofi Kingston tries to cross body check Titus O'Neil from the top rope but is caught mid-air
5. Titus throws Kofi over his head and Mark Henry catches him
6. Henry gives Kofi the World's Strongest Slam
7.  PTP and Henry gets a pin victory
8. 9 out of 10 for this match

RAW recap of last month's brawl between the Undertaker and Brock Lesnar

The New Day interviewed about their lost. They say that nothing will deter them from being tag team champions and everyone will sing "Hey, we want some New Day!"

• Charlotte with Becky Lynch VS Naomi with Tamina and NXT Women's Champion Sasha Banks

1. RAW recap of Charolotte making Diva's champ Nikki Bella tap out
2. Great display of talent from both competitors
3. Match too short
4. Charlotte tries to make Naomi tap out but Sasha and Tamina interferes
5. Charlotte wins via DQ 
6. The Authority says restart the match as a tag match
7. 7 out of 10 for the match 

• Charlotte and Becky Lynch VS Naomi and NXT Women's Champion Sasha Banks with Tamina

1. Great action
2. Great wrestling techniques shown
3. Aggressive Naomi started to rear her head
4. Naomi sneaks into the match and gets an impressive roll up pin victory
5. 8 out of 10 for the match

RAW recap of Rollins bragging about breaking John Cena's nose and then facing Neville for an eventual win

• Stardust VS Zach Ryder

1. RAW recap of Stardust calling out Arrow (Stephen Amell)
2. Zach starts off strong
3. Decent back and forth action
4. Stardust eventually gets a pin victory
5. Stardust tells Arrow not to let him down like Neville did and be his hero

RAW recap of Paul Heyman saying that the Undertaker will not beat Brock Lesnar

The Big Show interviewed about his preparation for the Triple Threat match between him, Ryback and The Miz for SS.  Show says he will mess up the money make of The Miz and knock out the Big Guy.

• Roman Reigns VS Rusev with Summer Rae 

1. They both stare at each other down to start the match
2. "USA" chants
3. Slow paced match initially
4. Neither competitor getting a dominant edge on the other
5. Rusev rams Reigns shoulder into one of the steel post and finally gets an edge
6. Roman favors that shoulder the rest of the match
7. Back and forth action picks up and the crowd gets into it more
8. Reigns loads the Superman punch and gets a chink kick, but still delivers the punch
9. Both men are down
10. Summer attempts to get in the ring but Lana comes down and attacks her
11. Rusev loses his focus and eventually Reigns catches him with a spear
12. Reigns gets a pin victory
13. Bray Wyatt comes on the Jumbotron and says he accepts the SS challenge and welcomes the war
14. 7 out of 10 for the match
