WRESTLING RECAP: Breaking down WWE SmackDown from 10/15/15

 

(www.PlaytimeCares.com) - The Hell in A Cell (HIAC) Pay Per View (PPV) is roughly 2 weeks away, and hype for the matches have fallen flat. This SmackDown episode was decent, but did nothing to really increase the desirability of the upcoming PPV.

Some things I still need to happen in the WWE Universe:

1. Bring back the Cruiser Weight Division
2. Make all the matches mean something to some sort of belt or rivalry.  
3. Show more of the roster.  You guys recycle the same talent too much.
4. You may wish to consider bringing the Diva's division full circle and have them with Tag Title belts, lightweight belts, etc.
5. The Tag Team Division is starting to look better than the singles division.  Get more people graduated from NXT and get that division showcased more.

• Roman Reigns VS Bo Dallas

1. RAW recap of Reigns getting a count out  victory over Braun Strowman
2. Bo tells Reigns he will leave the Hell in A Cell (HIAC)Pay Per View (PPV) on a stretcher
3. Reigns has a dominate victory
4. Very uneventful match
5. Roman Reigns with the pin victory
6. Reigns says the only way to beat Bray Wyatt at HIAC is to ride straight into hell
7. Bray comes on the jumbotron and says on RAW he will deliver a prophesy
8. 6 out of 10 for the match

• Cesaro/Neville VS King Barrett/Sheamus

1. Back and forth action
2. Cesaro and Neville have good tag team moves
3. Cesaro was really dominate during the match until the Money in the Bank briefcase was thrown in the ring
4. King Barrett sneaks in a bull hammer on Cesaro when the ref turned to remove the briefcase
5. King Barrett and Sheamus with the pin victory
6. 7 out of 10 for the match 

Summer Rae is interviewed about finding out that Rusev was engaged to Lana from TMZ.  Summer is shown smacking Rusev on RAW because of the incident.  Rae is asked if she can remain impartial for the match between Rusev and Dolph Ziggler since she will be the special referee.  She said that she can separate personal and professional life, unlike some people.

• Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens VS Zach Ryder - Ryback ringside

1. Agressive Ryder out the gate
2. Every time Owens mounts offense, he trash talks to Ryback
3. Popup power bomb ends it 
4. Kevin Owens wins via pin fall 
5. Ryback storms in the ring and Owens leaves
6. "Feed me more" chants
7. 7 out of 10 for the match 

RAW recap of Kane making a lumberjack match between himself and Seth Rollins for the main event.  This despite that going against the wishes of Stephanie McMahon and HHH.  Kane beats Rollins with a tombstone pile driver.

Paige apologizes to Natalya and ask her to be a friend and mentor to her again.

• Dolph Ziggler VS Rusev with Summer Rae as special guest referee

1. Rusev comes out aggressive and dominates early
2. Ziggler gets a roll up pin on Rusev and Summer tries to fast count Rusev out the match
3. Rusev gets a pin and Summer takes her time getting down to count 
4. Rusev gets up and confronts Summer
5. Summer slaps Rusev and Ziggler lands a Zig Zag on Rusev
6. Ziggler gets the pin victory 
7. Summer gets a mic and says that Lana and Rusev cheated on both of them
8. She wants to know what Ziggler thinks about them
9. Ziggler said he knows that Summer wants to use him, and he is not interested in those games
10. 7 out of 10 for the match

The Dudley Boyz and Dean Ambrose are interviewed about potential chemistry issues in their tag team match tonight.  They assured the WWE Universe that Dudleyville and The Lunatic Fringe are roads that cross.  They said they will prove this when they 3D The New Day through a table tonight.

• Prime Time Players VS Luke Harper and Braun Strowman

1. Braun Strowman montage shown
2. Titus O'Neal looked good against Strowman early
3. Darren Young come in with a lot of energy
4. Young is caught with a kick to the chin by Luke Harper
5. Strowman submits Darren
6. Wyatt Family via submission
7. 7 out of 10 for the match

• Charlotte with Becky Lynch VS Alicia Fox with the Bella Twins

1. SmackDown recap of Charlotte beating Brie Bella
2. Alicia giving good offense early against the champ
3. After both ladies land a boot to the face of each other, Charlotte recovers quicker
4. Charlotte lands a spear and then a Figure 8 submission
5. Submission victory by Charlotte
6. Team Bella jumps Charlotte and Becky Lynch until Paige comes and help them clear the ring
7. 7 out of 10 for the match 

Paige apologizes to Charlotte and Becky Lynch.  They say they will take their relationship one day at a time.  Doctors runs pass them and they follow the doctors.  Natalya is seen in her dressing room on the ground hurting.

Recap of the feud between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker which has lead to their match at HIAC.

• The New Day VS The Dudley Boyz and Dean Ambrose

1. The New Day credits the Power of Positivity for causing them to beat so many superstars
2. Back and forth action
3. Crowd goes crazy when hometown Dean Ambrose gets tagged in
4. After many major bumps and hits from everyone in the match, Kofi is put in the 3D
5. Before the referee could count to 3, a bloodied Xavier Woods hits Bubba Dudley with a trombone
6. The Dudley Boyz and Dean Ambrose wins via DQ
7. The New Day destroys The Dudley Boyz while Ambrose lays unconscious outside the ring
8. 8 out of 10 for the match
