WRESTLING RECAP: Breaking down WWE SmackDown from 10/08/15

 

(www.PlaytimeCares.com) - The big wrestling event that took place at Madison Square Garden happened, and now it is time to move on to another major Pay Per View (PPV).  Hell in A Cell (HIAC) is roughly 3 weeks away, and hype for the matches are going full force. This SmackDown episode was decent, but not as eventful as Monday Night RAW.

Some things I still need to happen in the WWE Universe:

1. Bring back the Cruiser Weight Division
2. Make all the matches mean something to some sort of belt or rivalry.  
3. Show more of the roster.  You guys recycle the same talent too much.
4. You may wish to consider bringing the Diva's division full circle and have them with Tag Title belts, lightweight belts, etc.
5. The Tag Team Division is starting to look better than the singles division.  Get more people graduated from NXT and get that division showcased more.

The New Day comes to the ring

1. RAW recap of The New Day taking the John Cena U.S. Open Challenge opportunity away from Dolph Ziggler by knocking him unconscious.  Big E took the challenge, but eventually lost to Cena.  The New Day jumped Cena, then beat up Ziggler for trying to assist Cena, then The Dudley Boyz for trying to assist as well.
2. The New Day credits the Power of Positivity for allowing the three of them to beat up 4 people on RAW
3. They say they will face The Dudley Boyz at Hell in A Cell (HIAC) 
4. Dolph Ziggler comes out and says The New Day cost him the U.S. Title
5. Dolph said he was granted a match against Big E
6. Xavier Woods said it will be a fair fight
7. Ziggler agrees, and then The Dudley Boyz comes out

1. Ziggler tried to start off on fire, but Big E is too powerful
2. Ziggler took a lot of punishment
3. Crowed really into match and are behind Ziggler
4. The New Day interferes in the match and even holds Ziggler's leg down on the pin
5. The New Day with the pin victory
6. 8 out of 10 for the match

Madison Square Garden (MSG) WWE Network match recap between Brock Lesnar and The Big Show

RAW recap of Paul Heyman saying Brock Lesnar will beat The Undertaker at HIAC. Big Show comes to the ring and try to shake Lesnar's hand, but Lesnar walks away from him. Show says he hopes Undertaker beats him again.  Lesnar suplex Big Show and then gives him the F5.

Summer Rae is talking about her engagement to Rusev and Rusev shows up.  Rusev reminds her that if she gets him gold around his waist, she will have gold around her finger.  Summer lets Rusev know that he has a match against Ryback tonight, and the winner gets the #1 contenders spot for the Intercontinental Championship (IC). 

•  Team Bella VS Team NBC (Natalya, Becky Lynch & Charlotte) 

1. RAW recap from 2 weeks ago of Charlotte accidentally getting knocked into Paige which causes Paige to leave the match.  Natalya comes out and tries to fill the void that Paige left for her team, but is attacked by Paige.  A distracted Charlotte is hit with a finishing move to lose the tag match.
2. Natty looks good in the ring
3. Team Bella dominated early
4. Team Bella mounts offense and keeps Charlotte out of the match
5. Charlotte gets in the match and dominates
6. Charlotte locks in the Figure 8
7. Team NBC wins via submission
8. 7 out of 10 for the match 

Paige is asked about the victory by Team NBC.  Paige says there is not team NBC and does not like Natty trying to steal her team, and she does not like Natty.

• Ryback with Summer Rate VS Ryback - IC Kevin Owens at commentary

1. Both come out pounding on each other
2. Ryback gets the early advantage
3. Rusev eventually targets Ryback's shoulder and arm
4. They both keep the match and a slow pace and just do occasional power moves on each other
5. Ryback eventually powers up and put Rusev in the Shell Shock
6. Ryback wins via pin fall 
7. 7 out of 10 for the match

RAW Rebound of Corporate Kane trying to be Seth Rollins tag team partner and Rollins objecting.  Stephanie McMahon comes out and says not only can Kane be Rollins partner tonight, but they will also have a match at HIAC.  Steph throws in the stipulation that if Demon Kane does not win the belt, then Corporate Kane loses his position as Director of Operations.  The match takes place and Demon Kane eventually comes out and choke slams Rollins through a table.

Bray Wyatt cuts a promo saying he will beat Roman Reigns at HIAC and that he and Braun Strowman will punish him tonight.

• Neville VS King Barrett

1. Video montage of Bad News Barrett winning the King of the Ring and becoming King Barrett 
2. Barrett dominates early
3. Neville counters with huge aerial assaults
4. Neville eventually runs into a bull hammer elbow
5. King Barrett gets the pin victory
6. 7 out of 10 for the match

Stardust cuts a promo hinting who he will choose next for his personal building or conquest.

• Randy Orton and Roman Reigns VS Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman

1. Bray Wyatt gets dominated early
2. Crowd really behind Randy Orton
3. "RKO" chants often from the crowd
4. Strowman allowed to come into the match and dominates
5. Strowman even knows down Orton and Reigns when they try to deliver a double shoulder block on him
6. Both work on knocking Strowman off both of his feet, but only manages to daze him
7. Wyatt hits Reigns with a steel chair repeatedly
8. Randy Orton and Roman Reigns wins via DQ
9. Bray tries to put his finishing move on a stunned Reigns but Orton attacks
10. Strowman attacks Orton but gets a Superman punch and then gets flipped to the outside  of the ring while stunned
11. Bray grabs Reigns but Reigns pushes Bray into an RKO
12. When Bray stands up, dazed and confused, he gets speared by Reigns
13. Strowman pulls Bray out of the ring
14. 7 out of 10 for the match
