(www.PlayTimeCares.com) - 38 years. That is how long I have been alive, and that is also how long it has been since a cultural phenomenon was released to the world. 1977 is when "Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi" came into existence on the big screen. This series was made, then remade with extra scenery, then given 3 more episodes to officially get the prequel genre into full swing. There was no way that I was not going to see this movie.
The trailer showed me this:
Episode One had it fair share of drama because of people feeling racial stereotypes were being shown. This is the 7th episode, and their is a Black Stormtrooper that truly caused people racial unrest. I truly do not remember Stromtroopers taking off their helmets in the first 6 episodes to warrant people being upset with them having a Black Stormtropper, but all in all, WHO CARES?!?
Remember Star Wars universe, the most iconic character in Star Wars, Darth Vader, was voiced by someone Black...so hush with the crazy talk!
Let me get straight to why you are here - GO TO THE THEATER AND SEE THIS MOVIE!
NO - This is not the most ground breaking film in the series
NO - It is not necessary to see it in 3D to enjoy the film, but it will add to your experience
YES - They were successful in ensuring that the film did not detract from the franchise
YES - You have to hear and feel the audio in theater sound to really enjoy this film in its entirety!
I really did enjoy this film. It did not blow me away, and truthfully, the plot was predictable, but just like the latest "Rocky" film, "Creed," having a knowledge base of the plot line does not detract from the movie much. There are a few necessary evils that take place in order for this movie to continue for another episode in the series. There are enough nostalgia pieces in the movie to make it tie all the films together.
Just trust me on this and go see the movie! It didn't just make $57 million dollars overnight for nothing! Seeing this in the show is a must!
Enough about me and my thoughts of the film, since the theater was full of people to see this. What did others think of the film? Well, here are their thoughts:
