NXT 396 on the WWE Network:

Verdict: 4 matches and a decent showing that may be crucial toward future story lines for NXT superstars.

Episode tidbits

Roderic Strong announced that he wants a title shot and that he is driven to be the NXT Champion.  NXT Champion Bobby Roode told Strong to stay in his lane and that he is not man enough to win the title.

"Cien" has one lady upset about his partying ways after losing matches.  She smacks Andrade in the face to emphasize that notion.

Ember Moon wants to undress some business with the "Iconic" diva duo.  Once that business if finished, she will return her attention back to Asuka.

Next week there will be a Triple Threat Elimination match between Asuka, Ruby, and Cross...a PPV rematch essentially.  Let's see if Ember Moon invades that match - or if it becomes a Fatal Four Way Elimination Match.

Match 1: Heavy Machinery beats Victor Andrews & Lars Sullivan (Match Grade: C)

Lars is just as big as both members of Heavy Machinery...Victor, not so much!  When Victor tagged into the match, that spelled the end for their tag team versus the heavy duo.  Size matters and Victor splatters!  Of course, for Victor losing the match, Lars beats him up after the match!

Match 2: Sarah Logan is outmatched by Peyton Royce (Match Grade: C+)

Royce surprised me with a whole new arsenal of moves...including an almost "3 Amigos."

Match 3: Hideo Itami and Oney Lorcan has a no contest match (Match Grade: B-)

It looks like a heel turn is on the horizon for Hideo Itami.  Hideo had that match won but opted to punish Oney instead of pinning him.  Kassius Ohno had to come out and stop Hideo from punishing Oney.

Match 4: No Way Jose ran into a big problem with Killian Dain (Match Grade: C+)

The chants from the crowd against Dain seemed to only fuel his rage against Jose.  Jose showed much resilience but Dain proved to be too much.
