NXT 427 on the WWE Network:

Verdict: You had 3 matches that led to a culmination of one event, but the beginning of another event.  This episode is another build-up episode for the upcoming NXT Takeover Philadelphia.

Episode tidbits

Street Profits declared that they will have Tag Team gold in 2018.

Kairi Sane wants a shot at Ember Moon and the NXT Women's championship.  This lead to Shayna Baszler sneaking behind Sane and choking her out!

Ember Moon declares that any woman trying to make a statement about the NXT Woman's Championship should step in the ring and do so.

Authors of Pain says the tag champs Undisputed ERA are on borrowed time.

NXT 2017 year in review will be shown next week.

NXT Tag Team Championship rematch in 2 weeks between SAnitY & Undisputed ERA.

Match 1: Street Profits makes quick work of Kris Starr & Riley Apex (Match Grade: C)

Too short of a match on a dominant win by the Street Profits to rank this match any higher.

Match 2:  NXT Women's Champion Ember Moon retains her title versus Sonya Deville  (Match Grade: C+)

Sonya has shown much in-ring growth, but Ember did her homework to neutralize all Sonya's moves.

Match 3:  A surprise win for Johnny Gargano over Lars Sullivan, Killian Dane and Aleister Black to earn the #1 Contender spot to face Andrade "Cien" Almas at NXT Takeover Philadelphia for the NXT Championship  (Match Grade: B)

Once Dane made his dive through the middle rope onto Sullivan, you already knew this was going to be the match of the night!  Who actually predicted Johnny Wrestling would win the spot?  I did not...
