WRESTLING RECAP: Playtime Williams breaks down WWE Raw from 04/20/15

(www.PlaytimeCares.com) – With the Pay Per View (PPV) program, Extreme Rules (ER) less than a week away, I expected a less than stellar RAW and SmackDown this week.  Overall, the RAW program had its moments, but truly was nothing spectacular.

Some things I still need to happen in the WWE Universe:

1.     Bring back the Cruiser Weight Division

2.      Make all the matches mean something to some sort of belt or rivalry.  

3.     Show more of the roster.  You guys recycle the same talent too much

Here are the highlights of the show:

Randy Orton comes to ring that has a steel cage hanging above it

1.     Explains he does not need the RKO to win his match with Seth Rollins

2.     Explains how he will brutalize Rollins and take the title from him

3.     Rollins interrupts with J & J Security accompanying him

4.     Rollins explains no matter how good Orton is, he will be better

5.     Orton says he will RKO everyone until he gets to RKO Rollins by night’s end.

• Dean Ambrose VS Luke Harper

1.     Started off the match faced paced

2.     The fight spilled into the crowd with neither competitor obeying the refs commands

3.     No Contest

4.     6 out of 10 for the match  

Rollins cautiously moves around the back stage area with J & J Security

1.     Prime Time Players scares them

2.     HHH pops up and scares Rollins

3.     HHH says he will talk to Kane to calm him down from last week’s RAW

4.     Rollins ask for more security from Orton

5.     HHH denies request because “It’s only 1 guy.”

Lucha Dragons VS The New Day ( Big E & Kofi)

1.     Strong “New Day Sucks” chants

2.     Carlito VS Kofi showcased how badly the cruiser weight division would be received

3.     Decent action the entire match

4.     Action spills outside the ring and Xavier Woods holds Sincara’s legs causing the Lucha Dragons to be counted out

5.     New Day earns the title shot for ER

6.     Will celebrating in the ring, Orton delivers the RKO to Kofi and Woods

7.     Big E leaves the ring instead of fighting Orton

Recap of The Bigh Show’s brutalization of Roman Reigns last RAW

• Curtis Axel VS Fandango

1.     Too short of a match

2.     No real consequence to the match

3.     6 out of 10 for the match

Cutaway:  Health Slater talks to Erick Rowan about accepting John Cena’s U.S. Championship Open Challenge and winning the title tonight.  Rowans says nothing and simply gets up and leaves.  Slater asks what is wrong with him and gets a RKO out of nowhere from Orton.

Roman Reigns tells The Big Show to come out and fight right now

1.     Bo Dallas interrupts and comes out instead

2.     Bo Dallas says Reigns is a bust and the Tim Tebow of the WWE

3.     Superman punch to Dallas, then a spear

4.     Reign states he will be the last man standing Sunday at ER 

• Sheamus VS Zach Ryder

1.     Sheamus grabs a microphone and ask Zach to hold on

2.     Brogue kick to the face of Zach

3.     Commentates while he beats up Zach

4.     Ziggler interferes and gives Sheamus a Zig Zag

5.     Sheamus wins the match via Disqualification

6.     6 out of 10 for the match

• John Cena talks about his match with Rusev for ER

1.     Boos often

2.     "John Cena Sucks" chants multiple times

3.     Open challenge issued

• Kane VS Cena

1.     "Let’s Go Cena – Cena Sucks" chants

2.     Kane dominates

3.     Cena does 1 countermove and puts Kane into a finishing move

4.     Cena wins

5.     6 out of 10 for the match

The Miz interviewed about his “Brand” match

Cena interviewed about his win over Kane. Gets attacked from behind by Rusev.  Rusev gives Cena a facelift with the steel chain.

• The Miz VS Mizdow with Summer Rae

1.     Decent paced match

2.     Summer Rae rakes the face of Mizdow while the ref isn’t looking

3.     Miz wins

4.     Orton RKOs The Miz while he celebrates

5.     7 out of 10 for the match

Bray Wyatt cuts another cryptic promo

 

• Ryback VS Adam Rose

1.     Too much of a size difference

2.     Not even close

3.     Ryback wins easily

4.     2 Rosebuds given the Shell Shock finishing move by Ryback

5.     7 out of 10 for the match

Kane interviewed about his lose to Cena and it is revealed that J & J Security put a joke about Kane being old on social media.

1.     Kane approached Seth Rollins and tells him to say the rude comments to his face

2.     Seth apologizes for the way he treated Kane

3.     Rollins says he will dedicate his win over Ziggler to Kane 

• Ziggler VS Seth Rollins

1.     Decent match

2.     Decent in ring skills showcasing

3.     Sheamus comes to the ring

4.     Ziggler focuses on Sheamus and Rollins capatilizes

5.     Rollins wins

6.     7 out of 10 for the match

7.     Rollins grabs the microphone and says he is the man

8.     HHH comes out and says Rollins will beat Orton

9.     Rollins grabs the microphone from HHH and says he will beat Orton without the help of Kane – he used the words “useless” and “obsolete” in the same sentence

10.Kane comes out and HHH and J & J Security tries to stop Kane from getting into the ring

11.Rollins has the ring staff to lower the steel cage over the ring

12.Orton sneaks in before the cage is completely lowered
