NXT 440 on the WWE Network:

Verdict: You had 3 matches and the conclusion of Round 1 of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic (DRTTC).  All in all, a solid episode to watch.

Episode tidbits

→Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic (DRTTC) second round (semifinals) starts next week.  The winner of the tournament gets a tag team title shot at NXT Takeover New Orleans.

→Tommaso Ciampa starts off the show and finally gets to speak despite a loud and angry crowd.  While Ciampa was ripping up Gargano signs from the crowd, he took one poster from a person that ended up being Johnny Gargano!  Security grabbed Johnny and escorted him out of the arena after he attacked Ciampa.

→Tyler Bate knee is injured so Moustache Mountain has to withdraw from the DRTTC. Roderic Stong asked to find a partner to fill the missing slot and was granted that request.

→Raul Mendoza was coming out for his match, but NXT Champion Andrade "Cien" Almas attacked him from behind.  Cien then went to the ring to call out Aleister Black for a next week "respect" session.

→Lars Sullivan next week.

→General Manager William Regal stated that he has an announcement that will change the landscape of NXT forever.  That announcement is next week.

Match 1: DRTTC Round 1: Roderick Strong teams up with UK Champion Pete Dunne to beat the team of Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch (Match Grade: C++)

This was a solid match.  You had hard hits, you had big hits.  The only thing you did not have was more time.  If given more time, this match could have been an instant classic.

Match 2: NXT Women's Champion Ember Moon gets a dominant win over Aliyah (Match Grade: C+)

Aliyah has improved much but was outclassed by Moon.  Moon won while talking trash to Shayna Baszler who was on commentary.

Match 3: Adam Cole survives against Kassius Ohno (Match Grade: C++)

The size difference was not truly a factor.  Plenty of action in this match to satisfy any wrestling fan.  Adam Cole survived more than won this match.
