WRESTLING RECAP: Breaking down WWE Smackdown from 04/23/15

(www.PlaytimeCares.com) - Extreme Rules (ER) Pay Per View is only a few days away, so I did not have much hope in this show being entertaining.  I will say, this SmackDown show was better than RAW and was actually pretty decent overall.

Some things I still need to happen in the WWE Universe:

1. Bring back the Cruiser Weight Division
2. Make all the matches mean something to some sort of belt or rivalry.  
3. Show more of the roster.  You guys recycle the same talent too much

Here are the highlights of the show:

The World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and J & J Security kicks of the show 

1. Recap of Randy Orton and how he went on a RKO rampage Monday on RAW
2. Rollins states that he does not need help to beat Orton
3. Calls Kane "aging"
4. Kane comes to the ring
5. Kane says that Rollins should appreciate him since he is the gate keeper for the ER match
6. Rollins says Kane will be fired if he doesn't do what is best for business
7. Rollins says HHH gave Kane his ER role because HHH felt sorry for Kane
8. Kane said since he laid down for Rollins, then Rollins needs to lay down for him
9. Kane calls for a referee

• Kane VS Seth Rollins - Non Title Match

1. Rollins refuses to lay down
2. Kane reminds Rollins since HHH isn't there, he is The Authority
3. Kane says he will rip Rollins guts out unless he lays down
4. Rollins lays down
5. Kane says he is kidding but he will have to fight Dean Ambrose right now

• Dean Ambrose VS Seth Rollins

1. Ambrose comes out to a thunderous crowd roar
2. Luke Harper comes right behind Ambrose
3. Ambrose attacks Rollins
4.  Harper, J & J Security and Rollins jumps Ambrose
5. Roman Reigns makes the save
6. No contest
7. 7 out of 10 for the match

• Dolph Ziggler & Neville VS Bad News Barrett & Sheamus

1. Sheamus clowns Neville and Ziggler about their height before the match
2. Great action
3. Decent match
4. Many high risk moves
5. Neville hits the Red Arrow finisher on Barrett after Ziggler hits the Zig Zag on him
6. Ziggler and Neville wins
7. 8 out of 10 for the match

Bray Wyatt cuts another cryptic promo towards a yet to be revealed obsession

• Naomi VS Natalya

1. Decent paced match
2. An aggressive Naomi has a great showing of her skill the entire match
3. Naomi wins and attacks Natalya one more time after the match for good measure
4. 7 out of 10 for the match

Prime Time Players cuts another promo, and this time is is slamming the Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Tyson Kidd

Rusev and Lana comes to the ring and talks about how the Russian chain will destory Cena, and destroy America's last great hope.

• Rusev VS Ryback

1. Decent paced match
2. Good power match
3. Ryback dominated the entire match
4. Rusev hits Ryback with the Russian steel chain and knocks him out
5. Rusev then gets on top of Ryback and gives him the same chain face lift that he gave Cena 
6. Ryback wins via disqualification
7. 8 out of 10 for the match

Rollins and J & J Security finds Luke Harper to get him on the same game plan.  Harper tells Rollins that he is bringing the pain so stay out of his way.

• Kofi with The New Day VS Cesaro with Tyson Kidd

1. The New Day continues to antagonize the crowd with positive messages and messages of clapping
2. The clapping from The New Day leads to "New Day Sucks" chants
3. Decent paced match
4. Outside activity caused Cesaro to lose focus
5. Birds of Paradise finisher from Kofi gives him the win
6. Ryback dominated the entire match
7. 7 out of 10 for the match

 The Big Show talks about how Reigns is given too much, too soon, so at ER he will expose him.

• Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns VS Luke Harper and Seth Rollins

1. Decent paced match
2. Plenty action
3. Back and forth match
4. The crowd really got into the match towards the end
5. Many people on their feet the last several minutes of the match
6. Ambrose ring antics led to "This is awesome" chants
7. While all people are getting counted out, Kane picks up Rollins and put him in the ring before the count of 10
8. Ambrose gets in the ring on 9 and tags a fresher Reigns into the ring
9. Reigns spears Rollins for the win
10. 8 out of 10 for the match
